The Matrix

Some Rules can be bent, Others can be broken..."
Think you know what The Matrix truly is? We'll show you what you really didn't expect it to bed.
Plot Synopsis
Mr Anderson works as a programmer by day but goes by the code name of Neo by night as a well respected computer hacker. Things start going a little funny when his computer starts asking him questions about "The Matrix".
Personal View
It's hard to talk too much about this without spoiling it (assuming you haven't seen it). I still can't help feeling that Keanu Reeves can't act but that this role actually suits his style of the somewhat shell shocked, unemotional hacker who's just had his world turned upside down and inside out. Much of the movie seems to be carried by Lawrence Fishburne as the enigmatic Morpheus and Hugo Weaving as an unrelenting "Agent".
Carrie-Ann Moss provides the eye candy for the boys but seems to do little more than prance around in tight PVC.
The movie takes an unusual approach to what reality truly is and the plot lends itself well to the current age of high technology and the West's current fears of robotics (interestingly Japan often sees Robots in a good light). The movie takes some interesting approaches to applying some of the movie effects available (such as bullet time) and utilises them well to portray and illustrate the movie.
My Rating : 4.75/5 (A must have in any collection, pity about Keanu though otherwise I'd have given this a 5)
Main Cast
Keanu Reeves
Laurance Fishburne
Hugo Weaving
Carrie-Anne Moss
Released : 1999
Rated : M15
Genre : Action, Sci Fi
Price : $12 or shop around for something cheaper second hand (price from KMart)
